Kerala M.Tech 2015| Eligibilty Criteria, Important Dates, Counselling Process

Those candidates who are wishing to take admission in Kerala M.Tech must have valid GATE scores to be eligible in addition to the specified academic qualifications, pass percentage and domicile requirements. The Counselling for the Kerala M.Tech Admission 2015 will be held tentatively in July 2015 in three rounds after the rank list is announced. Below is the list of details about Eligibility Criteria, Counselling Process, Application Procedure and Important Dates.

Eligibility Criteria

The Candidates must Indian Nationals. They must have a valid GATE score. Also they must passed following:
► B.Tech/B.E from an AICTE recognized institute/ Deemed Universities with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination (For SC/ST candidates a pass is sufficient while for SEBC students, a minimum of 54% aggregate marks is mandatory).

► Candidates, who have passed AMIE / AMIETE Examinations, must have valid GATE score and a minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination. They must also possess a minimum three years of Professional experience in the field of Specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.

► Final Year Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination can also apply, provided he / she has passed all the subjects up to and including the 6th semester exam (8th semester for B.Arch students).

► Candidates who have a valid GATE score and who are waiting for the result of the supplementary examinations of the above or previous semesters can also apply. Confirmation of admission of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree on or before September 30, 2015.
Note: In case seats remain vacant due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered against such vacancies. If seats are still remaining vacant, candidates from other states will be considered for admission.

Application Procedure

► Visit Official Website and register to apply online
► Candidates must enter the details after logging in.
► Personal details, academic details and communication details must be filled in carefully.
► Candidates must exercise care while filling in the entries as the rank list preparation is based on the correct information provided by the candidates
► Candidates must submit the Online Kerala M.Tech 2015 Application Form to generate the SBT Echallan.
► The Echallan must be printed and payment made in the nearest specified branch of SBT.
► Candidates must also print the Application Form to be submitted to the address mentioned below.
► Candidates must ensure that the bank stamp is placed on the Echallan copies of DTE and candidate and the correct details of branch, transaction are entered.
► Candidates are advised to make a copy of the printout of the filled in Kerala M.Tech 2015 Application Form for their reference.

Payment Fees: Rs 500 (Rs 100 for SC/ST)

Mode: Cash through EChallan in specifiedbranches of State Bank of Travancore

Documents to be submitted along with the Application Form:

► Engineering Degree certificate and Mark lists upto B.Tech (6th semester) and for B.Arch (8th semester)
► GATE Score card
► Community and Income certificate for candidates who claim eligibility under SEBC quota
► Community Certificate issued by the Tahsildar for candidates under SC/ST quota.
► True copy of professional experience certificate from the Head of the organizations where the candidate is working in case of AMIE/AMIETE passed candidates
► Counterfoil of the chalan for remittance of application fee
► Nativity Certificate issued by the Village Officer (for Non-GATE candidates)
► Sponsorship Certificate (if applicable).
► Physical disability certificate (if applicable)

Note: Candidates who do not have valid GATE scores will be considered for vacancies after allotment of seats to the GATE qualified candidates.

Counselling Process

► Candidates must apply online. Click here to Apply online
► Candidates must enter their option for the courses they wish to avail admissions to.
► Candidates will be selected on the basis of their GATE scores.
► If sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be made from Keralite candidates based on the aggregate marks up to 6th semester in their qualifying examination (8th semester for B.Arch students)
► Candidates who produce Nativity Certificate obtained from the concerned Village Officer, at the time of admission will only be admitted in such a case
► Candidates have to check the merit list that will be announced and pay the requisite fees as per the given schedule after downloading the Seat Allotment Letter.
► The selection of candidates will be provisional and subject to verification of original documents by the Principals concerned at the time of admission.

Note: Self Financing Institutes will conduct admission for themselves from the published rank list, after the specified date on the basis of separate applications that will be available at that time and ascertaining the eligibility for admission as per the norms of the University concerned and following.

Selection Procedure: The selection Committee will comprise of the Director of Technical Education (Chairman), the Senior Joint Director (ECS) and the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. The Principal, College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram will be the co-ordinator.
